The entire tree looks brown and zapped from the cold, but I have started noticing new leaf growth starting to sprout in the last couple weeks. So my question is how shout I trim the dead stuff? My thought was to give it a month or two and see where the new growth stops and trim at that spot. My only worry with this is that the tree may come out lopsided. Any suggestions?

Did it flower? Or, just new growth.

No flowers yet, just some new growth popping up on some of the thicker interior main branches. Every single leaf on the tree was dead. I have a feeling the first 12 -24 inches of every branch end are mostly dead. The tree was close to 10 ft tall before all the damage.

Bummer. If it re-spouts under the graft union cut them off.
