( Saturn launch at night) ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. If you are an internet troll just spewing bs then f off. |

Mouse Trap ... my 1st job upon migrating to Cocoa Beach from the Outer Banks in 66. Best steak in town. Lost my virginity to a 25 year old cocktail waitress ... stoked.
Food Fair across AIA from Canaveral Pier ... my 2nd job. Ed Ostrosky and I kept our boards in the stockroom and would bail to the pier for a quick surf during our lunch breaks. KFC on AIA across from Canaveral Pier ... 25 cent bags of French Fries got us thru a full day of surfing. RonJon shop on the pier ... managed it 1968-1970, parked my '65 Falcon next to the shop up on the pier. My dog Bubba had the run of the place. Gave live surf reports over WKKO AM radio. more ... BJC ... Brevard Junior College (before it became Brevard Community College) shared classes with Claude Codgens, the Salicks and others. ... good times ------------------------- ... positioning and selection Edited: 04/16/2009 at 09:41 AM by freesurfs |

The turtle did rock, Bob Went there in college with my girlfriends a few times- who were star struck over surfer dudes then! OMG, what fun! I was 18-19 and knew nothing about surfing, but was educated quite well from the crowds that hung there!

Where was Royal Castle, where Krystals was? Krystals THAT was THE place to pig out after a surf session at Cocoa Pier! How many bitty burgers could you wolf down? I think they were 25cents each. ------------------------- http://www.flickr.com/photos/flsurferzmom/ flsurferz@gmail.com "I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Ted was called "Tiny". LOL! He died in prison.
It was the Sea Gull before it was the Turtle. Went to a "happening" there before it was the Sea Gull. Used to see J the K all time, would call in and ask him to play Lou Reed's "Heroin". Jethro was a good show. Saw Canned Heat there also. Had a tab at Wolfies, that was never paid, Frank would never take our money. Met Murf and Hobie together at the pier. Never thought that somebody "so old" could surf! LOL Hulk's band was the house band at the Anchor. He was a pretty OK guy. The Anchor WAS TGIF. Did the "Rock Lobster" with Bill and Grace Nelson at George's! ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

Ramon's had the best ceasar salad and prime rib.
B & B Printing. Bernie gave me bowling lessons. He bowled the first 300 game on TV. He took bowing to Australia in the fifties while working for Brunswick. He hired a kid to work at the lanes named Bernie Farrelly. He said he thought the kid was a pretty good surfer. Used to play gigs at the Turtle on Sunday afternoons. Bill and Marjane talked me into moving to CB from San Diego. 1973 ------------------------- Wooden Boards for Iron Men |

The convenience store / sub shop just past Oceanside SS ... what the heck was the name of it? Was it Patrick Deli?
The Mexican Rest across the street from ^^ .... Gringo's (I think) ... Do remember that they served great breakfast and we had a friend that cooked there. We would order pancakes and he would load up eggs, bacon and sausage between the layers. The Rest across from the Glass Bank (it has been a 10000 dif ones) was a Pizza place in the mid 70's. Can not remember the name (I am detecting a theme here) ... I do remember that the owners had an INSANELY hot daughter! ------------------------- "Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do." - Bertrand Russell "Morality is doing what is right, regardless of what you are told.
