Beware chicken strips from China, always read packages, we thought we were buying good ones but in fine print showed they were made in China, put both of our dogs in acute early renal failure, stopped the strips and they got better.  We bought them at Petsupermarket and Walmart

there are tons of brands, the key is to look for any indication it was made in china, usually small letters

Here's a link to some previous and similar problems.
http://vdi.sagepub.com/content/19/5/525.abstract
Melamine is a plastic used to "improve" protien content of substandard wheat gluten and other products.
It's not a food and unfortunatley it's also toxic.
In China, products with melamine found their way into infant formula.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Chinese_milk_scandal
This resulted in a crackdown (and a few executions), but no doubt
the practice continues. Especially in the poorly regulated pet food industry.
If you have any of the strips left, I'm sure there would be some interest in testing them.

Sorry man, hope your dogs get better.

What do you do about cross contamination with the raw food?

When feeding chicken( bone included) and or whole eggs, he just has a speicific area where he eats at, then. Just gets clean with baby wipes/disenfdective wipes, then just don't let him lick all over you for a couple hours,...otherwise we feed oatmeal, fish,Tripe, cottage cheese, beef, this other raw food mix called performance blend"... Other than that we been feeding him since we got him at 8wks, and he.turned four months the 26th of Feb...I can see how feeding this way would be a little more time.consuming with haveing little ones/kids...but other than that, we used to feed "regular cruchy dog food".. but haveing to put him down, due to getting cancer we decided something different this time... We don't have any of that "frontline/advantage" shit for fleas, we just.feed.him.garlic regularly and that does the trick, heard bad things from those "flea applactions".., so we are just trying it out this way, I heard someone say, " well Hell, dogs been around.d forever..YEARS YEARS, and there were no kibble and bits, old Roy", back then, dogs just ate it all ,bones as well..so, that's our feeding schedule...we got a black male lab, this round...we had a yellow male prior RIP,Jake... Got our new boy from "terrah labs", out of Orlando, "casper", is my boys daddy, he's THE F-in MAN..

While you're at it, beware of bologna!  I was giving about 2 slices(piece by piece) a day, as a goodie.  I started drinking and peeing more.  I stopped and he was better.
