Looks cool and the theory and ideas of sustainability are nice but clothes are pretty expensive. I'm not sure if it will do well with the average surfer/ younger surf generation. anybody else think so?

He already made it pretty clear that he realized they will not really be making a mark on the surf world.

He will get those loyal Kelly older guys with cash to buy and then I think Kerring Group will have to figure it out in larger high end department store settings.

Geez, $95 for a Tshirt?  $400 for a sweater?  Yeah, not sure who this is made for, but it aint the average surfer.

Beanie, T-Shirt. WTF! Yes.

But, what is so different between that and paying the same "high" price for a CI board?

Yeah, I think it's cool if it can be a successful high-end brand. A lot of surfers seem to be angry today that this brand wasn't marketed for them. I'm gonna give Slates the ol' B of the D and just hope he dumps some of those profits back into the surfing/sustainability/peruvian communities- I'm almost sure he will.

Should have stayed with Quick. This is not going to fly.

I have to agree with everyone so far, these prices are dumb. If you're wearing these clothes chances are you're probably riding on a Laird Hamilton Jet board too.

I'm not angry, but I do want to know who the target audience is. Kelly has over 1 million instagram followers, to whom he's been hyping this product up for months (years?). It would have been nice to see a price point at least a couple of those million people would be willing to pay.

I personally am not the type to spend over $20 on a T-Shirt, but he's talking $100 for a plain shirt. I'm sure he has fans who would be willing to spend $50-75 on one of his handcrafted peruvian alpaca shirts, which to me is insane, but he overshot even them.

crazy stuff

maybe womens clothes at these prices can fly w/ designer logos, but these don't even seem to have flashy logos

catering to the rich hipster crowd? not sure how big of a crowd that is. Maybe in socal that demo is larger

I'll just wait for Outerknown to hit Zulilly or Rue La La or one of the other million flash sale sites.

$100 Tshirts will be dropped to $30

High dollar conspicuous consumption for a decidedly low dollar crowd. I can't see how this solves his problem with Quik and why he left. He is not a fashion designer and his clothes are not haute couture. His name alone cannot propel them to the level of super high end prices. A t-shirt is not a $100 t shirt unless the designer is so hot that every fashion mag defers to him or every model wears his stuff. Kelly is still surfing. He wont, I am guessing, be able to pull down that kind of money with the hopes that he still gets to make a decent profit and give some money back to sustainable farming and fighting malaria. That's a $40 tshirt. I am thinking that Walmart should reach out to Jack Johnson and do a rash guard with padded front panel for $110.00 where all the profits go to mosquito nets in indo and antibiotics in New Guinea. Make a snappy name like Surfers with some Jack and show Kelly how its done.

He's selling men's high fashion. It's not a surf brand nor is it for surfers. Notice that the only store in Florida is in Miami. This is targeted at guys that wear ostrich leather slippers and far-too-much cologne. I don't see it suffering. Just not what most of us in Brevard County care for. And that's okay. Because he's cashing in.

How is he cashing in??  He is going to lose his ass and his investment.  This company will be dead in 2 years at this rate. This stuff is more then Tommy Bahama !

Guarantee that he doesn't lose his ass. But quite possibly his investment. Only time will tell.
