Went offshore St. Aug with a buddy on sunday, and we were striking out all over the place, until we moved out to 25+ miles Thought I saw a Cobe come under the boat as we were pulling up to spot, so I grabbed my new baitrunner that already had a jig on. Hooked up pretty quick near the bottom in 100' and the drag started burning. After a pretty long battle (got him to the surface 3 times and he ran back down each time, using his head as leverage), I got a nice surprise. My first Aftrican Pompano. I was stoked on what was otherwise a slow day..... Unfortunately we got covered up in BIG cudas shortly after
