CB Surf Museum / Waterman's Challenge today.
The CB Surf Museum is holding their annual luau this Saturday (June 70 at 6:30 at the Cocoa Beach Country Club pool pavilion. There will be food, drinks, music by the Aquanuts, hula dancers, and live auctions for a NuWave SUP, a 321 surfboard, and $250 certificate for a surfboard from Ocean Sports World. Cost is $20. Fundraiser Monday Sept 24th
A Benefit and Celebration for Anthony Hoff at Nolan's Irish Pub on Monday, September 24th from 6pm until 12am. Anthony is a 15 year old Cocoa Beach local who suffered a traumatic brain injury after a BMX biking accident 2 months ago. Anthony is rehabilitating and communicating with his family and walking some after almost a full month at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. Anthony's mother, Mary works at Roosevelt Elementary and his father, John works at the Cocoa Beach golf course - they are local salt. Raffles, Silent Auctions and half of all sales at Nolans will benefit the Hoff Family. More ------------------------- One more time. |

Fundraiser Saturday, Sept 22nd
Two fundraisers coming up this weekend. The next event for Rob Munchbach is scheduled for Saturday, September 22 at Kiwanis Island Park on Merritt Island. This event is the "Stroke Your Heart Out" Sykes Creek Paddle Challenge and is open to anything that can be paddled or rowed. Paddlers will begin at the northwest corner of Kiwanis Island and proceed north on Sykes Creek to the SR-528 bridge, then turn around and come back to Kiwanis Island for a total distance of 7 miles. A short course of half that distance will also be available for paddlers looking for a more recreational pace. Registration is available the day of the race beginning at 7:30 am and the paddle will begin at 9 am. A donation of $35 is requested. "Surf Your Heart Out" 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk on the Beach at Lori Wilson Park (North) on August 25
Upcoming event to help raise funds for local surfer Rob Munchbach of Merritt Island. Rob is a 42 year old Merritt Island resident who is facing a tremendous health challenge. He is in need of a heart transplant and is currently going through the process of getting on the list with Shands Hospital in Gainesville. "Surf Your Heart Out" is a 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk on the Beach at Lori Wilson Park (North) on August 25. Check-in starts at 7:15 am and the event will start at 8:30 am. (Low tide is at 8:30 am!) Donation is $25 day of event, $20 for early registration. The course goes 1 mile south to the boardwalk at 2nd Street N, then back to Lori Wilson. Following the run particpants are invited to spend some time surfing/swimming and then joining in for a cook-out at the Slater West Pavilion. John Hearin is presenting "The Impact of Beach Nourishment on the Surfing Wave..." April 18
John Hearin, Ph. D, Coastal Engineering will be presenting to talk on Beach Renourishment at the Cocoa Beach Public Library, Wed, April 18th, 6-8 pm. John will present the results of research and offer some suggestions regarding future nourishment projects in Brevard County at a public forum to be held at the Cocoa Beach Public Library on April 18 from 6 to 8 PM. The presentation is intended for the general public and anyone interested in the beaches of Brevard County is encouraged to attend.
